geo caching is like "treasure" hunting with GPS coordinates. People hide boxes with a log book and little nick nacks, you program a handheld GPS with the coordinates and hike to it. If you take something you should leave something. The kids really like it.

Today's treasures were a superball, a wire bendy man and a matchbox truck. We left a marble, a barbie necklace and a happy meal toy.

Just clicked on the link that you posted. There are tons of them right by where I live. I will be bookmarking that site, that will be a great activity for us to do on the quads in the spring.

I just did my first geocaching tonight!!
We didn't find either one - too freaking cold :killingme and dark DOH!

I also just logged a benchmark...found two by accident :)

This sounds like a great activity to get kids out of the house! A treasure hunt! We will definitely be doing this, there were 19 within five miles of our house, I stopped counting there. This will keep us busy all summer, and for summers to come!
