I'm kinda making up a dessert over here, and I want to top it with coconut, and for the coconut to be toasty.
The dessert itself has to bake for about 45 mins... will that burn the coconut? How long does it take for the coconut to be toasty?

I took the recipe for Paula Deen's gooey butter cake, sprinkled a bag of sliced almonds on top of the dry layer, mixed about a half-bag of coconut and a bag of chocolate chips into the cream cheese layer, and want to top it with the toasted coconut. My vision is an almond joy gooey butter cake.
The lick-the-bowl test says it's awesome, lol.
When I made the Lime Coconut muffins they were topped. They baked for like 20-25 minutes I think and the top was pretty toasty. I would try putting it on the last 20 minutes or so.
