Once you've made a soup too spicy, is there any way it can be fixed????

Yeah - I think that's exactly what I'll end up doing. :( At least I had not put the 7 strips of bacon in it yet. Mmmmmmm ..... dinner.

Well - it's a recipe for a soup with black beans and pumkin. It calls for canned tomatos. I have none, so I subsituted an entire can (!!!!) of Chipotles. :bang: What was I thinking??

Sugar & dairy are the typical remedies for too much hot.
That's a LOT of chipotle to compensate for, though.

Well - I'm eating a small bowl of it now. I put a ton of bacon, sour cream and a half packet of Splenda in it.
I'm going to pay tomorrow!

I know putting a whole peeled potato in will help with saltiness. But I don't know if anything can absorb all that chipotle. My best friend made a veggie chili and put in a whole can of chipotles.
Yikes! We tried so hard, but could not choke it down.

A WHOLE can!?
Divide it up & quadruple the ingredients of everything else? But that's gonna be a truckload of soup.
Save individual baggies of it for *POW*'ing up future dishes.

Eek! All I know is that milk helps cool down spice, but I don't think that would help your situation. Cinnabar has a good idea.

Heavy Cream?
drain 1/2 the broth and start over. Sorry

Eh - I'm just going to throw it away. I hate doing that, but I don't need 15 gallons of soup, either. Luckily, the pumpkin and beans were on sale.
Thanks - I've learned a lesson.
Diana - I've yet to poop today - but I'll let you know how everything turns out
