I call it ala Rachel b/c that's my friend who sent it.

And yes, I made chili when it's 106 degrees outside. :laugh:


Turkey Chili with White Beans

* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1 large shallot, chopped
* ½ head garlic, chopped
* 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
* 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
* 2 pounds lean ground turkey
* 1/4 cup chili powder
* 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
* 3 cups beef stock or canned beef broth
* 2 15-ounce cans Canelleni beans rinsed, drained


Chop up garlic and shallot, set aside.

Brown ground turkey in olive oil and season with a little salt and pepper. Drain any fat and set aside.

In large pot, cook garlic and shallot in a little olive oil over med heat. Add in beef broth and crushed tomatoes. Stir to combine. Add all spices now and stir sauce to combine.

Stir in washed beans and meat and let simmer for 30 mins-1 hour over low heat!
