to cook with?

I found a yummy sounding pot roast recipe that calls for red wine. I've never cooked with wine. Does anyone know what the best wine for cooking is?

I don't have a clue, but if you find out I'm coming over to eat.:D

You want to pick a wine that you would like to drink, since the flavor will be concentrated. For a pot roast, I would go with a (red) zinfandel. It's got a peppery taste and would give a good kick, I think.

You can! The recipe sounds delicious. I'll post the recipe if it turns out good!

Thanks. I usually drink White Zin if I drink wine. So this sounds like a winner.:D

Most definately Red Zin. Great call, Tina!

When you go to the wine store, ask the workers there for a recommendation. That's their job and, I've found, they LOVE talking about wine and sharing their knowledge!!

Good luck!
