I mean really, I looooooove bacon.

A couple of weeks ago on the radio I heard about bacon wrapped cinnamon rolls. I couldn't believe my ears so I googled it. http://bacontoday.com/bacon-cinnamon-rolls-o/ Yeah, I'm not so sure about that.

And today I see this: http://www.pillsburybaking.com/Recipes/Details.aspx?recipeID=3737

I dunno. I'm not convinced.

On sort of the same topic, Ian ordered a McGriddle, not knowing what it was.

"It was NASTY! I was like....I dunno....a waffle sandwich!!!!"

:nono: Ick.

mike says there is no way that can be bad. he LOVES to douse his bacon in maple syrup and i tried it and it is damn good. so sweet and bacon can go together.

I love McGriddles. :D

But a bacon wrapped cinnamon roll just sounds wrong. :indiff:

That is true. I remember those pancake wrapped sausage things, whatever they are called.

But caramel or cream cheese icing? The maple syrup I can buy. Not sure about the others.

I would love it.

Chocolate covered bacon is the new big thing. Anything sweet and salty is the bomb diggity, as far as I'm concerned. Remember? Pepperoni and Peanut Butter sandwiches? :eat:

I made cinnamon rolls for my guests when my parents were here. I just couldn't bring myself to do the bacon.

Pepperoni and peanut butter? Uh, no.

Has anyone tried bacon wrapped around portobello mushrooms that are covered in BBQ sauce on the grill?

YES. Those are so good. :D

Also, jalapenos stuffed with a shrimp, wrap the whole thing in bacon, and grill them and baste with BBQ sauce.....I usually make those and the mushrooms together, on big skewers. :eat:

I first had the jalapeno/shrimp things at my brother and SIL's house..they were grilling one day and made them.

I was afraid they'd be too spicy for me, but if you scoop all the white stuff out of the jalapeno, they're actually pretty mild.

Or you can leave some white part in, if you want them spicier. :D

Warning, if any of you decide to make those....

WEAR GLOVES when preparing the jalapenos. The first time I made them, I didn't wear gloves and spent the night with my fingertips in a bowl of ice. They were on fire!!

I learned the glove thing the hard way. :nono:

Brown sugar on bacon cooked in the oven is awesome. In a weird way, I could see cinnamon rolls. I don't know if I would try it though.

I get the cinnamon roll thing, but not sure I'm ready for it. I do LOVE dates wrapped in bacon though. Just wrap a bit around a date and pop it in the oven until the bacon is crisp. Yum. Yum. Yum. Or just go to your nearest tapas restaurant and ask for 'em!

/still wondering how pepperoni and peanutbutter came to reside in the same sandwich....

My SIL, when she was pregnant, made PB and bacon sandwiches. Surprisingly good. :eat:

I'm not anti- peanutbutter and pepperoni. I mean, I love peanutbutter, and I can see how the salty goodness of pepperoni would complement the peanutbutter, but I am just not sure. Maybe I'll try the pb and bacon thing first....that would really gross my DH out...he hates peanutbutter.
