Freezing cookies?

I am making sugar cookies for wedding favors. I want to make them on Sept 30, since I have a day off, and freeze them in my mom's deep freeze. They should be okay for 19 days, right?

Can I pack them up in the favor bags and then put those in a gallon ziploc, or do you think I need to freeze them and then put them in the favor bags the day before the wedding?

I freeze cookies ALL the time. Works great. I'd go ahead and freeze them in the favor bags, then in a bigger ziploc.

Has anyone done the thing where you glaze the cookies with egg yolk mixed with gel or paste food coloring? How did they turn out?

If I do colored sugar, does that go on before I bake?
