Alison needs black tap shoes, and I'd like something comfortable (but not terribly expensive) for when I go ballroom dancing. Do I have to go to a dance supply store, or is there an alternative? Any ideas? Do stores like Shoe Carnival carry dance shoes for kids?

There's a few dance stores nearby that I know about: one is right next to the Shapes I go to, another is on Florida off of Bearss- that's where I got the ballet shoes I was going to wear for my wedding.

Personally - I would go to a dance supply store for myself. You'll find better quality (and they will be comfier) than ones you get Alison from Walmart or Target.

I've seen tap shoes at some Payless stores.

I don't know about the quality though.

I have seen them at Payless too.

And, kids consignment shops.

They usually sell them at dance schools, too.

Yeah, and Payless for kids dance shoes. Unless you need white, which Maggie always needed. :getyou:

Which Shapes do you go to?

The one on 56th. You know, right across from Outback. :D

Oh, yes, I know exactly where that is. We got to Antonio's a lot and the natural food store is there, too.
