Partly because I hate surprises, and partly because I'm a control freak, I am involved in planning my shower (along with my Man of Honor, Maid of Honor [Robin], and mom).

Obviously, there will be cake. :eat: What else would be good? I'm thinking in terms of stuff that can be bought in bulk at Costco, or platters from a grocery store. My FMIL has a million and one food allergies, but she'll make due I guess. I can't make everything wheat, dairy, soy, and nitrate free. :indiff:

It's a late lunch (2:00). Needs to be stuff that can be eaten on paper plates. We're going to have it in a community center, so there will be proper tables to sit at, but nothing too messy (in other words, I am staying away from wings and bbq and the like).

Ideas? Something better than the deli tray and potato salad I've thought of?

They have these really good pinwheel sandwiches at Costco that are turkey, lettuce, cream cheese, and tomato wrapped in a tortilla. SO good. I've used them for luncheons before and they've always gone over well.

Costco does have good looking platters. You can go over there with me one day if you want to take a look at them.

I still think that we need a platter of Killer Brownies from Graul's, even though there will be cake. :D You need at least two desserts for a get-together to count as a party. /makes perfect logical sense to me

Costco has an awesome fruit salad if you're lazy.

Robin's dessert logic is flawless.

Um.

These are good. And easy.

ooh, I have been dying to try the hot crackers but I never have b/c the recipe is so big and I would devour them all by myself.

Maybe I should make a batch to bring to the shower.:boobies:

What do ya think, Kelly?
