I have excellent news for us and our community!
As of May 16, 2008, we are officially, Phenomenal Women Forums, LLC! :confetti:
This means that we are officially an organization and no longer just a forum—and it’s a very exciting step!
It’s also a step toward my goal of becoming a 501c(3) organization, which I hope to have achieved by the end of the year. It can take months for this to be granted so when I have accomplished that, I’ll let you know. Being nonprofit will allow us to offer tax deductible pledge plans, accept donations, grant monetary gifts based on need and purpose, and attract sponsorships and partners, which will provide revenue for us to improve the site, put on programs and eventually a Nationwide event.
This step starts a domino effect for us as a forum. Over the next few months, I’ll be asking for input on your ideas for a full fledged content packed website; I’ll be asking for donations so that we can have a quality site built; I’ll be asking you to pass on your connections to people who would be willing to volunteer their writings for a women’s issues, health and living site; I’ll be asking for your sponsorship and partnership ideas (sites we can align ourselves with, sister-sites of sorts); I will be asking for your ‘Shop PDub’ ideas for both logo products and products we would love to push in our store’; and I’ll be asking a few of you to volunteer some time on staff to help push us the vision of PW forward.
3 yrs ago, PW was established to reach women from all walks of life, all around the world, and offer them a soft spot to land, a place of support and growth, where women ACTUALLY support each other and where women get along and respect each other. We’ve built that. Its time to share it, and it’s time for those who have become the core of our Sisterhood to reach out and help another who is where you might have been 3 yrs ago when this site launched.
I’m VERY excited about pushing us forward and the planned expansion throughout the year will be a wonderful addition to what is already one of the best women centered support sites on the Internet.
