Our brand spankin' new handy dandy Website Directory has been installed and I have verified that it is working correctly. Some Q&A that I hope will answer any general questions:
What is a Links Directory?
Simply put, it is a collection of quality websites of which you are allowed to give your review. This is a great place to list all of your helpful health & wellness sites, blogs, gaming sites, deals & steals, recipe sites, reference materials, reviews... the list is as long as the pages on Al Gore's Internet! If you post a website on the forums, please consider adding it to the links directory so that it can be easily traceable later on-- you might add it first and link to it in your post on the forums.
What are the Guidelines?
Any member can submit or review sites to the Directory
There is no limit to the number of sites that can be submitted by one person
Sites submitted must adhere to site guidelines (no pornographic sites, no sites that depict genitalia or sexual intercourse)
Reviews of sites must adhere to site guidelines (we do not debate nor do we flame each other. Lively discussion is encouraged.)
Please use the "byline" to be as descriptive as possible so that people can scroll the list and not have to click on each link to find out what the site is about.
While we are not strict on promoting businesses owned by our members and/or relatives, we do ask that if members plan to use the directory to advertise themselves, that they consider purchasing a link to support the forum-- please see below. As always, business owners and fund raisers are welcome to post in the Shopping Cart free of charge.
Can I purchase a link to be highlighted, i.e. an advertisement?
Funny you should ask. Why YES you can! Details will follow as soon as I have fleshed this option out, but basically a category will be provided for purchased links and these will stay at the top of the list until the alloted time has expired. Also, if you know of an organization who would like to be a paid sponsor, please forward that information to me as well. Revenues generated go toward site maintenance and improvement.
Depending upon how heavily the directory is used, I will group them into popular categories much like our Recipe Book is set up. For the time being let's see what we get and work on the best way to organize them.
Posting a link is very self explanatory. It's the same as posting a recipe or an article, since it's the same software designed to be used in a different format. If you encounter an error, please post in Site Issues so we can follow up.

PS- Many MANY heartfelt thanks to Jacquii from Poetry In Color (http://http://jpicforum.info/). She worked until 3 am to get us upgraded and installed and worked this evening on fine tuning! I'm going to add her sites to our directory tonight. Thanks Jacquii! :love:
