and Jackson is doing this half cry/grunt/fussy thing.

Dave Matthew's Crash comes on the radio. He is quiet for the whole song.

So, since I just bought a CD player for his room, I am thinking I should make him a CD with "real" songs on it to relax/fall asleep to.

Any suggestions?

My cd…. Off the top of my head  (Keep in mind these are songs I like to sing to, and that’s why they were chosen. I love to sing and can’t listen to a song without singing along….. and I know my taste in music is different.)

<O:p</O:p
A few songs from some of my fav musicals, such as The Secret Garden (Mandy Patinkin was in the original cast  )
Bless the Broken Road – Rascal Flatts
Wish You Were Here – Pink Floyd
If I Had a $1000000, Call and Answer, plus some others – Bare Naked Ladies
Complicated, You Are – Carolyn Dawn Johnson
I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing – Aerosmith
Lullaby – Charlotte Church
Whiskey Lullaby – Brad Paisley & Alison Krauss
Wonderful Tonight – Eric Clapton
When I Think About Cheating – Gretchen Wilson
Where Would You Be – Martina McBride

<O:p</O:p
Her two favorites-
Didn’t Leave Nobody But The Baby, Down By The River To Pray – from O’ Brother Where Art Thou?

<O:p</O:p
Those two songs are numbers 3 & 4 on the cd, and she rarely makes it past them.

Dave made an Enya playlist for my iPod that I played all the time while pregnant and Freya still loves that mix.

Dave Matthews Band makes ME gag, so none of that.

I should really get the O Brother WHere Art Though soundtrack--I love that music.

But we're talking about baby listening....
Claire de Lune (Debussy) is a good one. If you don't know what it is....once you hear it you'll go "oh, that classical piece"
Carnival of the animals, also by Debussy I think. It's the flamingo cartoon piece on Fantasia 2000.

St. Judy's Comet - Simon and Garfunkel

Little sleepy boy
Do you know what time it is?
Well the hour of your bedtime's
Long been past

And though I know you're fighting it
I can tell when you rub your eyes
You're fading fast
Fading fast

Won't you run come see St. Judy's Comet
Roll across the skies
And leave a spray of diamonds
In its wake
I long to see St. Judy's Comet
Sparkle in your eyes
When you awake

Little boy
Won't you lay your body down
Little boy
Won't you close your weary eyes
Ain't nothing flashing but the fireflies

Well I sang it once
Then I sang it twice
I'm going to sing it three times more
I'm going to stay 'til your resistance
Is overcome
'Cause if I can't sing my boy to sleep
Well it makes your famous daddy
Look so dumb

Won't you run come see St. Judy's Comet
Roll across the skies
And leave a spray of diamonds
In its wake
I long to see St. Judy's Comet
Sparkle in your eyes
When you awake

Little boy, little boy
Won't you lay your body down
Little boy, little boy
Won't you close your weary eyes
Ain't nothing flashing but the fireflies

Oo little sleepy boy
Do you know what time it is
Well the hour of your bedtime's
