Do you think I need a pattern for a valance? I've made curtains before, but nothing small like a valance. And I didn't have a pattern for those, just measure what I thought I'd need and made them. :dunno:

Dar~ It all depends upon what type of valance you are making. I have used patterns and I have just measured and made them also. Both turned out very nice. The valance with the pattern was just more complicated and looked a little more high end. Perfect for my bedroom. The measure, cut and sew look great in my kitchen and the girls bedroom. If it's simple no pattern is probably necessary.

And don't forget we want pics. :D

Yeah, this would just be for Alison's room, assuming I can find a fabric I like. The window has blinds, so the valance would just be for a finished look.

Then I would say go for it! :D

i thought you were posting about a sewer....
imagine my surprise...

go 150% the width of the window for fullness, measure down how far you want it to go and add about 2-3 inches depending on your rod for a rob pocket and about an 1.5 or so for hem.
