Those iron on thingies...

Where do you get the iron on things to make shirts? Do you have to have special ink to print them? I want to make Tanner a shirt for Thanksgiving.

I've seen them at Office Depot Max, but I've never used them.

You can get iron-on printer paper at Target (by the other printer paper) and use your regular printer. They had different kinds for dark colored t-shirts and light colored t-shirts.

Google, look for clip art, you can also design logos (words only) at www.cooltext.com and www.flamingtext.com.

Well, I found the iron ons at Walmart and it said it needed to be ironed on a cotton/poly blend shirt. I could only find 100% cotton. I'm not sure I'll do it now - I feel out of time. :cry:

Hmmmm.... I've never noticed the cotton/poly requirement before, and I would bet the onesies I've made were all cotton.

I wonder if they totally fell apart. /curious.

Mine were 100% cotton.

The risk is that the stretchier the shirt, the more likely the iron-on is to crack. But, honestly, it's probably going to crack anyway. But after a few washings, it will look "vintage" and cute.

Just wash the cotton t-first to pre-shrink it as much as possible, then go ahead and do your iron on. It will look great!
