Anyone have anything special you do to yours?

I was thinking of chicken. Maybe adding some BBQ sauce to it for taste. I need some ideas of veggies or fruit or whatever to go with them. My kids are pretty good eaters of veggies.

Can you buy the skewer stick things in a regular grocery store?

Yes, you can buy wooden skewers at the store... they come in bags of a bunch. Soak them in water before grilling.

My favorite kabobs are chicken, bell pepper, onion, mushroom and cherry tomato (not the grape tomatoes). I like to brush mine with A1's chicago steakhouse marinade. :swoon: It's a tomato based marinade. I also do a few skewers of just the cherry tomatoes b/c they are my favorite part.

Yeah you should be able to buy them there. You are supposed to soak them in water before throwing them on the grill.

peppers, onions, cherry tomatoes, cut corn cobs into short circles

Thanks guys!

I think I'm gonna do chicken coated with honey and soy sauce and then use zucchini and squash pieces. I might add more to mine though. I can't think of many other veggies they'd eat to grill.

And I'm gonna serve it with a side of broccoli and some brown rice. *trying to get back in the groove of eating healthy*

If you are doing chicken.....I have kabobed chicken, pineapple chunks, green peppers, and shrooms (a couple of times, I have also added sliced ham). I either brushed w/ BBQ sauce or SF orange jelly.

This is exactly how I do mine. In fact I think I txt'd Allison from Kroger to ask her what marinade to get so I got the Chicago Steakhouse :swoon: OMG so yummy!

No. Personally, I don't believe fruits and veggies can make you fat.

I made a really yummy sauce.

I took some honey, some soy sauce and some Hoisin sauce and mixed it together and let the chicken sit in it for awhile. It was yummy!
