Please tell me that these are everywhere.
We went to ours for dinner tonight. So worth the drive.
Fresh root beer and a footlong chili dog. :eat:

You mean A&W? They give you root beer (or diet root beer) in a frosty mug.
They also sell cheese curds, which are very tasty - but I'm sure probably very different from the real ones Kirsten gets to eat.
Nope. Not an A&W. The kind where you park and they come out to your car.
The tray on the window kind.

Like Sonic. With rootbeer.
That's how A & W used to be. We had one around here, I'm not sure if it's still there.
My dad used to take me the yummiest burger stand when I was a kid. I'd always get a cherry vanilla milkshake with hunks of maraschino cherries.
I know, huh? Come out here, I'll treat you to one. :D
Megan, forgive me, but I have never had Sonic.
There is something unique to the root beer and the chili dogs.
They are just the best. Only open in the summer. If you get lucky some of the girls still wear rollerskates.
You know, I think there may be a place like that out by Rebecca. I'm not sure if it's still there, though.
You guys should go see sometime.
I am still wanting another footlong. I only had one though.

We have one in Anderson. There are 2 in my hometown. I haven't been for YEARS, maybe even decades. Goooooooooood stuff.

I'll give you a footlong.
Give. It. To. Me. Baby.
....and all the girlies say Megan's pretty fly....FOR A WHITE GUY!

I have never seen a root beer stand.
But now I want to go to one.

I don't like rootbeer. I keep typing rootBEAR.
None here that I know of. But there was a place near Kentucky Lake we went to all the time, called Belew's. It's still there. Dad would always get a peanut butter shake.

But we didn't go the Sharonville one.
Rob loves ours. A little local one. I am :indiff: about it. It's ok, but nothign special

Oh, and for the record, I was never able to eat at the A & W after someone started a rumor in jr high that the workers spit in the burgers.
I am wishing that we would have got some root beer to go.

Told ya.:D I've never eaten there, but I thiiiink it used to be a hang out when Russ was in HS.
Ya, that's the one. The Family Drive In is better. It's right off of the freeway by the Safeway in Kent. :D I dunno why, but there are quite a few of those places around there. :dunno:

Ha! Dave and I were just talking yesterday about that very Family Drive In. I used to work at a video store that was right behind it. :D
Funny! That's where my dad always brought us. We usually just got shakes. mmmmmmmm
This is sort of off topic, but you working in Kent reminded me. I used to work at Rick's Cafe. Have you ever been there? Yummy! I worked there until Anthony was born. :D

:D It's right after the bridge as your entering Kent on Central coming from Auburn. :D It used to be right across the street from Ed Hume's office. Not that you would know where his office was.
On the right. It's a old house turned into a restaurant.

Ed Hume the gardener?
See, that's the thing, we can't remember where Central crosses the Green River. :slow:
It's right inside of Kent. I think the sign is on the bridge. It's pretty close to the Drive In. It's Rick's Cafe Americana.
Here is something I never knew. :dunno: I've never seen Casablanca.

That's funny! Dave said "by the Drive in?" and laughed and then you posted that.

Oh and Casablanca is good. I loved it.
We went to the Drive In on Sunday. I can't believe it's still there.
You guys should go to Rick's, it's a great place. And Rick actually owns it, so that's good. At least he did last I heard. :D

WTF are cheese curds? Doesn't sound very appetizing.
When Jenny, Angie and I were waiting for our plane in Columbus, we hit up the A&W for a bit to eat. None of us were brave enough to try "cheese curds".

My aunt and uncle ran a fish'n chips stand a few years back. They had the best french fries, homemade, very fresh potatoes, with the skins still on. They were the best!:swoon:
I think that is what I dislike.
limp french fries. I want super crisp fries. WHen I pick it up I want it to stay straight, not sag.

Cheese curds are little squeaky nuggets of goodness.
Might have to cross the boarder today to get some in WI, they are the best!
I'm hungry...
I know, right? Stupid thread.
And I keep coming in here. :dunno:
