Have you or do you ever trade applesauce for the fat (butter,shortening) in a recipe. I was just looking through some recipes and I seen someone saying that they sub applesauce for the fat and no one is ever the wiser. I was wondering if anyone has tried it, did it work, does it alter the taste of your baked goods?

things like muffins fall apart with the oils, the taste good, but there is definatly a texture difference
