View Full Version : Geocachers...
I know we have discussed this forty-eleven times, but I'm sooooo confused about GPS units. The reviews are all *Greek*. Do you guys think this one is ok? I want to spend <$150. This is $135 at Amazon.

I don't know much about GPS's, I chose mine because I had a Target coupon and gift card, and it was $99.99 (and I wanted to spend less than $100):dunno: Mine works well, and it is an etrex. :)
that one looks ok-- but every time I see someone ask on a gc.com forum for a low cost entry lever they recommend the yellow etrex-- less then $100, and is a good unit, I would think this would would be fine.
I think that the only difference is memory and that this model comes with a serial cable. Not USB, though.
does a serial cable attach to the computer?
:indiff: I think it does. I have no idea.
Here is a comparison chart...

ohhhh...serial cables are how they connected devices to computers in the olden days. :indiff:
so do they still work?
I'll go look up an article I read once
I guess. I have a feeling Russ would be all *offended* by old technology. :D
Kate....what was the site for the Geocaching for kids you posted. I searched a little but couldn't find it.

Lizz--I think it is geocaching4kids.com--not 100%, but I think that's it.
We are just about to go out to find a micro---even though I haven't done any baking for tomorrow's school bake sale. :indiff:
Sonny, Costco makes really nice cookies. :right:
(wait! You don't have Costco, do you?)
