I ate a couple pieces of grilled shrimp from Applebee's the other day. And I liked it even though I don't eat seafood.

Maybe it was the way it was cooked? Seasoned? I dunno but it would definitely add some variety to my menus.

How all do you buy it? Cook it? Season it?

I usually buy the precooked frozen.

Thaw is in the fridge. I eat it cold as shrimp cocktail or throw it into a dish during the last minute. Seeing as how it is already cooked you just need to warm it. Overdoing it makes it chewy.

Seasoning it depends on what you are making.

You don't ever grill the precooked ones?

I haven't. But you could.

Or get them raw and frozen. When they are pink, they are done.

I don't like cold shrimp and I don't like cooking it, as I can never get it done enough without getting overdone. I HAVE made shrimp scampi before and that is good. I usually only eat shrimp out.

If I ever make it, I buy them peeled and DE-VEINED! They have to be de-veined for me. You can do all sorts of things with them. I don't make it often since I'm not a big fan. I'm sure you could make a kabob out of them and grill them. You could season them however you want.. Old Bay, cajun, jerk, bbq, etc. Or cook them in a pan with some butter, lemon, and dill or make a white wine sauce and have over angel hair pasta.

Dar has some great suggestions. One other way I serve Shrimp is in a cajun spiced cream sauce with spaghetti squash. It is sooooo good.

Tequila Lime Grilled Shrimp (Dana C.'s 500 LC recipes) This is DELISH!!! Two thumbs WAY up!!

2 lbs large shrimp raw and in shells
1/3 C lime juice (I use the sqeeze bottle)
1/3 C water
3 TBLSP tequila
1 TBLSP soy sauce
1 tsp of garlic salt

Mix it all together and throw in the shrimp and let them marinade in the fridge for a few hours.

Drain off the marinade into a saucepan while the shrimp is cooking, boil the marinade HARD for a few minutes.

You can either skewer the shrimp and grill OR boil them.

When done, use the sauce to dip them in. I also like to sprinkle Old Bay on my shrimp, but that is because I have grown up eating shrimp with it.
________

You can also boil the shrimp, line a cookie sheet w/foil, lay the shrimp in a single layer and place provolone cheese on top and melt. I do this too w/scallops.
________

Fry/nuke or use the already to go bacon, Grab a big frying pan, throw in tons of butter, slowly place peeled shrimp in pan and cook on low/med until just pink. Sprinkle Old Bay & paprika and bacon. Stir and place on top of rice or noodles.

I will prolly think of more later.........

Ok here are a couple more

boil or fry peeled shrimp in butter and throw into alfredo sauce and maybe add some spinach and black olives, serve over spag. noodles
_________

Shrimp is great in stir fry , its quick, easy and w/enough veggies, you have a full meal all in one pan.
