View Full Version : Shepherd's Pie..
should have a layer of ground beef, a layer of whole kernel corn, a layer of mashed potatoes and then sprinkled with cheese.
I don't know WHAT the hell I am eating from the cafeteria, that they called Shepherd's pie. NASTY. It tastes like sloppy joe mix covered in potatoes.
***shiver***
Now I want to make the real thing.

Our Shepard's Pie (at work) does not layer anything. I've never seen a layered SP. Huh.
However, the "secret" ingredient is Chef's Sauce/HP Sauce/Brown Sauce. (basically an A1 sauce) mixed with kethup. It's delicious.
we do both -- sometimes tater tot casserole, sometimes shepards pie.
But seeing how Dan HATES any form of potato I usually avoid the casseroles-- I try to serve the potatoes separate so I don't hear about it.

HA! Alex is a potato hater. Even french fries.
I thought it was beef, potatoes and peas. Corn? You crazy.
I have never had Shepherds Pie.

 Dan too!! He said there is potato in the middle of french fries!
I've only ever had it with corn. Perhaps the person that made it for me didn't like peas. Peas doesn't sound good to me either. Corn is yummmyyyyyyyyyy!

I hate cooked carrots. They get all mushy bleh.
However I'm ok with them in stew. :dunno:
I'd rather eat cooked carrots than raw carrots.
My sheperds pie was:
ground beef with the onion seasoning packet
green beans
mashed potatoes
hmmm...I think I'll have to make some with ground turkey and mashed cauliflower! comfort food

corn? peas? whaaaaa?
the only shepherd's pie I've had (and it seems like I've a had a lot) was beef with gravy of some sort (or cream of mushroom soup, which I hate), covered in mashed potatoes, then topped with cheese.
why mess it all up with vegetables? :D (though, I love corn, and it would probably be yummy :D)
