How do you do this?

And does it turn out crispy?

I tried bacon in the oven one time, and I wasn't happy with the results./probably did it wrong

:dunno:

I wish bacon didn't insist on trying to splatter my eyeballs.

I have one of those screen-things, I cover it with that and it helps a little. But it still splatters my eyes when I try to turn it.

Bacon is lucky it tastes so yummy, because it's a PITA to cook and no one would cook it otherwise.

i have one of those things, too. but you can't really see thru it very well, so I have to peek around it. The grease waits for me, then tries to shoot me in the eye, sniper style.

And I'm with ya on the yummy.

I need it to eat my bean and bacon soup (Beakers recipe).

Mmm...bacon.

Did you know this thread makes me  all of you?/random

Allison, I cook my bacon for that soup different than other bacon. I cut it into 1" strips and cook it in my dutch oven on the stove. :dunno: It seems easier cuz you just stir it instead of turning it...

Or, Ali should just stand on a step stool, because I never get grease in my eye. On my arm maybe, but never my eye.

:rofl:that is exactly what I was going to suggest.

*neg reps Red*

Beaker, it's funny you say that - I was less than halfway thru the pack and so frickin' sick of it that I just cut it up into tiny pieces with my scissors, and stirred it. :D

Ever since Jenny posted it, I've been making bacon in the oven. No splatter and no burning arms. :D

I line my pan with foil, then put the bacon in a cold oven. Set oven to 425. The only downside is I have not quite figured out the perfect cooking time, so I have to babysit it.. but it's so much easier!

It takes David a century to cook bacon. He always cooks the whole pack and he will only cook 4 or 5 pcs at a time. I can't stand watching. /control freak

We have a big pan that fits over both burners for bacon.

Try it in the microwave.

Get some paper towels about 5 in a row (without tearing)
and put a bacon slice down...then roll it up..place another one, roll it up, etc. etc.

so it's all rolled up in there..

nuke for about 4-5 minutes or until you see the paper towels browning

p.s. I found little black dots all over the end of one..it looked like ink
I asked my mil wtf was that?..she said pig hair. :vomit:

I just demonstrated this for Dan the other day. He was all :screwy: at first, but when I crumpled up the foil and tossed it in the garbage and said, 'There. Cleanup is done,' he was impressed.

I line cookie sheets with foil, usually 2 big ones will cook a pound of bacon. Place in 350 oven and set timer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes keep checking every 3 minutes or so for desired doneness. Take it out, transfer bacon pieces to plate lined with paper towels, wait for bacon grease to firm up a little, then crumple up foil and toss.

I can't cook bacon or sausage any other way now.

I do it in the oven when I'm baking an entire package but I don't like the results as much as pan fried. I don't know why, it just doesn't seem right to be baking bacon.
