.:. SPRING CLEANING .:. Week 5
Welcome back to the Spring Cleaning 2008 thread!
Some of us may still be working on last week’s space, but that’s okay. Keep plugging away on that and as soon as you finish, move onto this week’s list. Let me reiterate that my method is to attack the “high visibility” things first, the things that make an immediate impact on the space…the areas that a guest may actually notice. Then, I move onto the organizing of hidden things.
At the beginning of each week, I’m trying to list the things I assume you’re doing (at least on a) weekly and/or monthly (and if you’re not already, you may find them helpful ). Remember, this is spring cleaning, so it’s about the big annoying tasks 
Are you ready for this week’s spaces? This week is repeat week. Work on the next 2 bedrooms, and if you don’t have that, play catch-up in the other spaces or work on the outside of your house.
Weekly Cleaning
- Change sheets
- Vacuum/ sweep floors
- Dry dust furniture
- Vacuum floors
- General “pick up” of the space
Monthly Cleaning
- Minor decluttering
SPRING CLEANING—2 BEDROOMS—CATCH UP WEEK
- Soft surfaces- pillows, throws, draperies, carpets
- Vacuum. When vacuuming the carpets, move EVERYTHING (as much as can be one) and clean underneath. Use those vacuum attachments! 
- Clean any stains with stain removers
- Change out your seasonal throw pillows and throw blankets, cleaning the ones you’re taking out of seasonal service before putting into storage
- Scotchguard
- This is a good time to schedule a professional carpet cleaning, alternately, you could steam clean them yourself. If your carpet is matted, whether due to wear or a piece of furniture that was there, steam will re-shape it and make it plush again.
